    This page is NOT for challenging the outcome of deletion discussions or to address the pending deletion of any page.

    Shortcuts

    Requests for undeletion is a process intended to assist users in two cases. The first case is restoring pages or files that were uncontroversially deleted via proposed deletion, under certain speedy deletion criteria (such as maintenance deletions (G6) or stale Articles for creation drafts (G13)), or in deletion debates with little or no participation other than the nominator. In the second use case, this page is also intended to serve as a central location to request that deleted content be "userfied", i.e., restored as a draft or emailed to you; this way, the content can be improved upon prior to re-insertion into the mainspace, or used elsewhere (you may also make a request directly to one of the administrators listed here). Be clear as to which namespace is intended, when requesting a refund of a deleted article.

    This means that content deleted after discussion – through deletion processes – may in some cases be provided to you, but such controversial page deletions will not be overturned through this process but through deletion review instead. Copyright violations and attack pages will not be provided.

    Do not request that pages or media deleted under speedy deletion criteria F7, F9, F11, U5, A7, A9, A11, G3, G4, G10, G11 or G12 be undeleted here.

    The DRV can't cause the page to be deleted, it's an entirely new version of the article that requires a new AfD to delete (and it even passed AfC, which is, admittedly, non-essential information for this undeletion request). —Alalch E. 12:05, 20 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

    Royal and Hashemite Order of the Pearl

    Soft deleted at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Royal and Hashemite Order of the Pearl. The deletion rationale asserts that the Order of the Pearl is not notable, though this is not correct. This is an award that has appeared in scholarly literature[1] and been received by notable individuals,[2][3] including the former President of Poland.[4] The deletion request also does not take into consideration that various other dynastic Orders of similar prominence exist and are maintained on Wikipedia, including the Order of the Eagle of Georgia, Order of Saint Anastasia, and Order of Saint Michael the Archangel. —Icodeswift (talk) 01:54, 21 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

    @Ookap: Declined pending further information. This was undeleted over six months ago with a pledge that it would be worked on, but no edits were made to improve the entry for resubmission. Draft space is not an indefinite hosting service for material found to be unsuitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia's article mainspace. We may be willing to restore it again, but only if you provide a definite assurance that you actually intend to work on it and provide a short description of what you intend to do to improve it to meet our policies and guidelines.     I'll be honest, I don't know what's wrong with the draft—I never worked on it (though someone I know off-wiki did, probably over a year ago now). My thought was that I'd look at it and try to fix any issues that I could, then resubmit it to AfC (or perhaps move it to mainspace) if I were able to get it to a more acceptable state.     History-only undeletion of a CamelCase redirect from 2001 (with remaining history from 2002). When history-merging it with the Rosa Parks page back in 2010, I left the old redirect revisions behind, but in response to the discovery that Rosa Parks was the first woman to get a biography on Wikipedia (see this draft press release), the redirect has recently been re-created by Pigsonthewing, who was the one who posed the question of who was the first woman to get a biography here which I was able to definitively answer. I happen to know (from memory and checking old database dumps) that there's no interesting history there anymore, but I think that information should be available to everyone now and that a history undeletion at the "RosaParks" redirect page would be harmless.
